How to use
- 1Paste the Base64 text into the box. A data:image/png;base64, prefix is optional.
- 2The image decodes as you paste. The format is detected from the decoded bytes, not from the prefix.
- 3Check the preview, size and dimensions, then select Download.
Which formats are supported?
Formats are recognized by their file signature, the first few bytes of the file. Whether the preview renders depends on your browser; download works for all of them.

Why doesn’t my image show?
Either the string isn’t valid Base64, it was cut off when copied, or the bytes aren’t an image. The message under the preview says which. TIFF decodes but most browsers can’t display it; download it instead.
The prefix says PNG but the file is JPEG. Which is right?
The bytes. A data URI prefix is only a label and is often wrong. The download uses the extension that matches the actual file signature.
Is the image uploaded anywhere?
No. The string is decoded in your browser and the preview is a local object URL.
What if the data isn’t an image?
Use the Base64 decoder. It shows text, or a hex preview for binary files, and lets you download the raw bytes.
